Turkish property is a good opportunity for long-term investment

Turkey represents a good location for those looking to invest in overseas property, an industry expert has suggested.

According to Lawrence Sykes, director of Acumen Property, the country is "becoming very popular" and is among the most lucrative places in the world for property investment at the moment.

However, he said that, despite claims that companies are seeing quick returns from Turkish property, a long-term approach is needed.

Mr Sykes added that this was the case in almost all countries.

He commented: "[Turkey] is becoming very popular. Our reports point to Turkey as being one of the top places to invest in at the minute. It is lucrative, but it's long-term investment.

"A lot of companies are saying that there are quick returns over there, but this isn't the case. For most properties in all countries you need to be there long-term."

Approximately 17,000 British people own property in Turkey, according to a recent article in the Guardian.
