Property investors 'should look to Albania'

Now may be a good time for people to invest in Albanian property, an industry expert has claimed.

According to Simon Walker, sales director of Off Plan International, the country is now at the stage that Bulgaria was at "six or seven years ago".

He commented: "There's talk of [Albania] joining the EU in 2013 to 2014, so now is the time which the people looking to invest in that sort of country would be looking to do now for long-term potential."

Mr Walker went on to say that those looking to invest in property in Bulgaria had to "be a little bit choosier", as the country's market has currently "reached its plateau".

However, he asserted that investors could still stand to make a profit in Bulgaria's property market if they were shrewd.

Due to hundreds of millions of euros being injected by the EU, Albania is prime for investment, according to Barrasford and Bird Worldwide.
