Property investors can benefit from the Dominican Republic's tourism sector
The Dominican Republic experiences "all-year round" tourism, making it a good location for property investment.
That is according to Farah Khan, spokeswoman for Investors Provident, who maintained that the country offered quite affordable real-estate prices in comparison with other Caribbean markets.
She added that, while the tourism industries of other Caribbean nations were currently developing, the Dominican Republic was "more established" in this regard.
Ms Khan commented: "With Barbados you're looking at high prices, whereas with the Dominican Republic you have good entry-level prices where people can invest because it is slightly cheaper, but at the same time it is quite an established market.
"[It has] a lot of tourism already and a lot of people are flying from the UK and other countries around the world. So you have got not only the prices that allow people to invest but you've also got the tourism there as well."
Flight times to the Dominican Republic from Europe are 11 hours.
