Over-25s find it harder to negotiate UK property market
Negotiating the UK property market is becoming more challenging for the over-25s, new research from Engage Mutual has revealed.
The findings revealed that almost half (46 per cent) of parents with children over 25 helped them to cover the cost of purchasing a new home or moving house.
Commenting on the findings, Nick Breton, 3GB spokesperson for Engage Mutual Assurance, said that the findings showed that the financial connections between generations are becoming more profound.
"British parents are providing more financial support to their adult children who are finding it increasingly difficult to stand on their own financial feet," he said.
The 3GB campaign examines how money shapes family relationships, with the research concentrating on how UK parents had helped their grown-up children financially in the six month period to September 1st this year.
Recent findings from fairinvestment.co.uk revealed that 44 per cent of women surveyed were homeowners paying a mortgage, compared to just 37 per cent of men.
