Liverpool property a great investment

The city of Liverpool is one of the UK's brightest property investment regions, experts have revealed.

According property specialists Sutton Kersh, the north-west city has enjoyed massive growth and regeneration since being named the 'Capital of Culture for 2008' almost five years ago.

Phillip Lawton, a director at the company, revealed that demand in Liverpool, from both domestic and overseas buyers, had grown steadily since it was given the accolade.

He said: "In 2003, when Liverpool was awarded the capital of culture 2008, there was a huge influx of investment; people were literally queuing up to buy properties across the city, particularly in the city centre where there were many exciting off plan opportunities."

Mr Lawton added: "The investors largely came from Ireland and the south of England but we were also selling to people from as far afield as South Africa and America."

Recently, Liverpool was also named among the Daily Mail's top ten cities to defy the house price gloom in 2008.
