Independent advice is important when buying property in Florida
Many British buyers investing in property in Florida may not be finding the best bargains by assessing prices in line with those in the UK.
That is according to Andrew Bartlett, emigration and property specialist at Andrew Bartlett Florida, who asserted that "whether it's a good time to buy depends entirely on what people buy".
He went on to say that it is essential for those looking to purchase property in Florida to seek independent advice, owing to the overwhelming amount of choice on offer.
Mr Bartlett commented: "The problem is that so many British people buy on the basis that the properties seem a lot cheaper compared to the UK but theyre not necessarily buying the best bargains in Florida.
"There are thousands and thousands of similar properties so it really is [important to] have independent advice specifically on where the opportunities are."
In 2003 and 2004, 14,000 Britons owned second homes in America, according to recent information from the Office of National Statistics.
