Eurostar could make Paris new property hot-spot

The revamped Eurostar service could turn Paris into a new London commuter zone, making the region's property a more attractive prospect, it has been claimed.

According to Knight Frank, the newly redeveloped London St Pancras International station might stimulate a raft of interest in Parisian property.

Liam Bailey, head of residential research with the company, suggested that the new ties between London and Paris could lead to a British influx into the French capital.

He said: "Paris will become much 'closer' in most people's reckoning and becomes a potential commuter location for London."

And commenting on other parts of France becoming popular among commuters, he added: "Northern and mid France are becoming much more acceptable for more buyers."

Meanwhile, research by LaSalle has revealed that Paris is the third most desirable city in Europe after London and Munich.
