Riverside Looking to Score Hat-Trick at Housing Awards

The Housing Excellence Awards are approaching and shortlisted for three gongs is Riverside. The housing association has been nominated for the Social Landlord of the Year, Customer Service and Regeneration Scheme of the Year categories.

The development in question that was nominated for Regeneration Scheme of the Year is Seven Oaks in the Rock Ferry area of Wirral. The project cost ?37 million and the regeneration project took three years to complete, with the partnership between Riverside, affordable housing developer and regeneration specialist Lovell, housing market renewal (HMR) pathfinder New Heartlands, and Wirral Borough Council making it possible.

Chief executive Deborah Shackleton told 24dash.com that she hoped the company could go better than last year and make history again: ?We made history last year when we became the only company in the existence of the Housing Excellence Awards to be the sole recipient of two awards on the same night, so it would be great if we could go one better this year and get a hat trick.?

Last year saw Riverside beat stiff competition from three associations to win the Customer Service category award, as well as take the Social Landlord of the Year award (an award that Riverside has won for last two consecutive years). This year will see the housing association up against Great Places and YMCA.

The winners will be revealed at a glittering awards ceremony at Manchester?s Palace Hotel on 12 May. No word on if Riverside will accept the awards to the song Riverside (Let?s Go) if they win any of the awards.
