Contemporary architecture has come a long way and it continues to amaze us and challenge the architect to create new and exciting residential buildings. The Pitched Roof House we present today is one of those modern homes that was designed to be a model for next architectural endeavors. Designed by Australian studio Chenchow Little Architects, the residential masterpiece features the bedrooms on the lower levels, leaving the social and entertaining spaces to be inserted in the upper part of the residential building.
Located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, the Pitched Roof House was developed as a result of the city’s planning codes that required all houses to have pitched roofs. The architects took this idea further and created a unique, dark-cladded architecture that reinterprets the traditional pitched roof. Using triangles to shape both the roof and the facade, architects created a stunning modern home totally tuned with the client’s wishes, city’s requirements and scale of the neighboring roofs. This particular design allows the interiors to be filled with natural light. The living room was designed to occupy the last floor as to offer beautiful views across the Sydney Harbor and bring in as much natural sunlight as possible in an urban area.

Wow, I really love the black and white geometric patterns that the architect has created. Very striking and modern, but also very liveable.
