It’s New Year, new start for most of us. New year resolutions invariably centre around health kicks or diet regimes. It’s time to dig out the weight loss soups or sign onto some weight loss diet program or another. Diets and food choices can be a bit dull in January, let’s be fair. So with this in mind, I decided to investigate some crazy kitchen utensils for use in the kitchen for the month ahead.
We’ve come a long way since the humble knife and fork. Today’s kitchens are full of modern gadgetry to quicken and brighten the cooking process up. It’s quite an education. And it can be good fun too!
This in particular really tickled me – the Egg Perfect Colour Changing Egg Timer. This is deemed an innovative way to time your eggs and it even adapts to the number of eggs and it even adapts to the number of eggs in the pan! Genius! Especially for a dufus like me who can never get it right.

And what about this for a potato masher – in the shape of a boot!
This bottle stopper would make for interesting topic of conversation at the dinner table
And these would be perfect to keep those half-drank bottles of beer for another day
If you like to eat corn on the cob but hate the mess check this out for a gadget!
And for those of us who’ve never quote got to grips (quite literally) with sushi then this could be a life-saver
And this knife block isn’t for the faint hearted either!
The cherry chomper could be quite dandy too for those pesky cherries in the summer
And these would go down a storm with the kids – Ninjabread Men cookie cutters! These stealthy warriors are set to sneak into your kitchen and stage a cookie coup!
If your a dab hand at baking and decorating then they could even end up looking like this…..
Finally – not quite sure what the point of this one is but it made me laugh – Edward Scissorhands anyone? Apparently they are ideal for buffets and parties…
